With the new year, we are updating our Listing Agreement to modify the commission charged for selling timeshares. In instances where we the buyer is NOT represented by a broker, there is NO CHANGE from our prior commission agreement. However, in instances where the buyer IS represented by another broker, our minimum commission is increasing from $1,000 to $1,500.
Two Important Considerations:
1. This change is designed to help attract more potential buyers for our listings. Raising the commission from $1,000 to $1,500 allows us to market your timeshares directly to other licensed timeshare resale brokers and their clients. Splitting our commission 50/50 with another broker means we gross only $750 from the sale of your timeshare, and that's before we pay for all the costs to market your timeshare (since we never charge upfront fees), run our business, and pay ourselves a fair wage.
2. As the seller, YOU have the ultimate decision in who you want to sell your timeshare to. You are always free to decline an offer from a buyer represented by a broker if you would not be satisfied with the net proceeds from the sale of your timeshare.
